Trust Services

SBT's Trust Department offers a variety of estate and retirement planning services including Investment Accounts, Retirement Accounts, Land Trusts, and more.

PERSONAL/LIVING TRUSTS

A Personal/Living Trust is an excellent vehicle to achieve your estate planning goals. A personal trust with Suburban Bank & Trust provides asset management assistance. It will continue during disability or incapacity. Upon your death, the trust will be distributed or continued for the named beneficiaries.

AGENCY ACCOUNTS

An Agency Account is used for investment purposes. Suburban Bank & Trust can act as agent for an individual, fiduciary, or corporation.

INVESTMENT PORTFOLIO ACCOUNTS

The Investment Portfolio Account provides professionally managed investment opportunities for the smaller investor. We offer a number of different mutual fund portfolio models, each designed to meet a specific investment goal.

GUARDIANSHIP ACCOUNTS

A Guardianship Account at Suburban Bank & Trust provides services when an individual is incapacitated, incompetent, or otherwise unable to handle his or her personal assets. Services include administration, recordkeeping, and proper accounting.

EXECUTOR/ADMINISTRATOR OF ESTATES

Suburban Bank & Trust will act as a neutral third-party administrator of estates. We gather and safeguard assets, file the inventory, pay expenses, prepare a final accounting, and distribute assets to named beneficiaries.

LAND TRUSTS

Establishing a Land Trust provides privacy of ownership, eliminates probate expenses and delays, and simplifies the transfer of ownership. A Land Trust can serve as collateral for bank loans. It allows you to maintain control over the property while removing it from your probate estate.

1031 EXCHANGE TRUSTS/STARKER

A Starker Trust allows the seller of commercial or investment real estate to exchange the sale proceeds for a more valuable parcel while deferring taxes on the capital gains earned.
